Wire Belt Company Statement Coronavirus / COVID-19

Dear Wire Belt Customers,
As mentioned in our announcement from March 5th, we are and have been carefully monitoring ongoing developments about the COVID-19 outbreak around the world. We are also closely monitoring changes in policies and restrictions at the local, national and international level.
At Wire Belt Company we understand the importance of maintaining supply continuity in the coming weeks and months for our customers in the global food supply chain. We recognise that your company plays an important role in this supply chain as well.
As such, we wanted to share the following updates with you. The following are steps being taken to ensure supply continuity.
  • Wire Belt’s manufacturing facility in Sittingbourne, Kent, UK will remain open, until further notice.
  • A detailed risk assessment specifically for COVID-19 has been carried out and is being followed.
  • Wire Belt produce essential equipment and spares for the processing, packaging, production, maintenance and repair of equipment serving the food and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Wire Belt have been identified as a Key Worker under the following Government guidelines:
    • Food and Other necessary goods
    • Those involved in food production, processing, distribution, sale and delivery as well as those essential to the provision of other key goods (for example hygienic and veterinary medicines).
  • We have ample stocks of raw material and parts to maintain our current level of supply going forward. 
  • Wire Belt has the infrastructure in place for our office personnel to “work from home” and as such will continue to respond to your needs and ensure you still receive your quotes and orders.
  • We have taken proactive measures to ensure all employees in the facility comply with social distancing requirements.
  • Our facilities are being frequently cleaned and sanitised. Additional hand sanitation stations have been placed in strategic locations throughout the building. We have posted informational signage, regarding hand washing, social distancing, and COVID-19 symptom recognition, conspicuously throughout the facilities.
  • All corporate travel, anywhere, has been suspended until further notice.
  • Our field-based sales team are all working and can be reached through the normal channels.
  • We have provided all essential operational employees with a document regarding our declaration as a ‘Key Worker’ business that will authorise their commute to and from work.
  • As noted earlier we are communicating frequently with all essential employees, the importance of social distancing as well as the importance of staying at home if they show any symptoms at all. 
  • No visitors or contractors are allowed to enter our building withour prior authorisation by a member of the Wire Belt Management Team.  Visitors who are permitted to enter our building must adhere to struct social distancing guidelines
Wire Belt views our responsibility to meet the needs of our customers who are supporting the surge in demand for food as one of our highest priorities only second to our commitment to safety.
